Japanese Roll Cake filled with fresh mini banana. Delish!

Tokyo Banana (Bilingual-Eng-Indo)
This Tokyo Banana is one of the most sought over souvenirs from Japan. It has soft Japanese roll as the outer skin and soft banana cream inside. Yet, today I made these little cutie using actual mini banana instead of the cream one as the filling. Let’s see and try it your self!
(Teman-teman, ini aku share resep bikin Tokyo Banana, cuman di resep ini aku pake pisang asli untuk isi nya (karena nggak suka sama banana cream nya). Agak nyeleneh, but very very yummy. Rasa pisang yang masih fresh dingin-dingin menyatu sama kulit nya yang lembut dari Japanese roll cake. Ayuk, bikin rame-rame!)
Ingredients:
- 4 tablespoon of granulated white sugar (gula pasir)
- 2 large eggs (telur ayam)
- 4,5 tablespoon of all purpose flour (tepung terigu, kalau bisa yang untuk bikin cake)
- 1 1/3 tablespoon of milk (susu)
Steps:
1. Preheat your oven to 356 F (180 C)
(Panaskan oven hingga 180 C.)
2. Lay on baking paper on your baking pan.
(Letakkan kertas baking diatas pan kue.)
3. Put one sauce pan on heat and put 1 cup of water inside, let to boil.
(Panaskan satu gelas air didalam sebuah panci kecil hingga mendidih.)
4. Pick one bowl to mix together eggs and sugar. Then bring the bowl
onto the top of the sauce pan (it’s important that your bowl’s back
surface doesn’t touch the bubbling boiling water!!! Try to make some
distance between the bowl and the boiling water –> I’m using flat bowl
here). Start to stir the mix constantly using whisker for about 5-7 minutes.
(Dalam sebuah mangkuk, aduk bersama telur dan gula pasir. Letakkan
mangkuk diatas panci dengan air mendidih (Penting: jangan sampai
permukaan bawah mangkuk yang digunakan menyentuh gelembung air
mendidih dibawahnya, buat sedikit jarak diantara mangkuk dan air
mendidih). Aduk rata dengan menggunakan pengaduk selama 5-7 menit.)
5. Take the bowl off the pan and beat the egg mix using hand mixer on
high speed for about 5 minutes.
(Angkat mangkuk dari panci dan kocok telur gula dengan hand mixer
dengan kecepatan tinggi selama 5 menit.)
6. Shift in the flour into the egg mix bowl, fold the batter slowly using spatula for about 30 seconds.
(Saring tepung ke dalam adonan telur, aduk rata dengan gerakan melipat-lipat dengan spatula selama 30 detik.)
7. Pour in the milk (should be room temperature) and fold the batter again for about 60 seconds.
(Tuang susu (harus dalam keadaan suhu ruang/ bukan dingin dari kulkas) kedalam adonan telur tepung dan aduk dengan gerakan melipat selama 60 detik.)
8. Pour the batter into the baking pan and flat it to 0,5-0,7 cm high. Drop the pan for several times slowly to remove the air bubbles inside.
(Tuang adonan kedalam pan kue dan datarkan hingga 0.5-0,7 cm. Banting pan secara pelan beberapa kali untuk menghilangkan gelembung udara didalam adonan.)
9. Bake in the oven for about 10 minutes.
(Panggang selama 10 menit.)
10. Remove the cake out of the oven and slowly drag the baking paper off the pan. Put the cake on a cooling rack until cool completely.
(Keluarkan kue dari dalam oven dan perlahan tarik kertas baking.)
11. Slowly peal the baking paper on the cake and cut the cake to
length 9 cm and wide 8 cm.
(Perlahan kupas kertas baking dari kue dan potong-potong kue
dengan ukuran panjang 9 cm dan lebar 8 cm.)
12. Put a sheet of plastic crap/ cling wrap on your table and place one piece of your cake on it.
(Letakkan selembar plastic wrap di permukaan meja dan letakkan satu potong kue diatasnya.)
13. Put the mini banana on the center of the cake. Roll the cake covering the banana slowly. Twist the outerside of the plastic wrap tightly. Repeat this process until the cakes and bananas gone/done. There you have your “bananas”!
(Letakkan pisang mini ditengah kue. Gulung kue perlahan hingga menutupi seluruh permukaan pisang. Pelintir ujung plastik dengan erat. Jadilah “pisang” yang siap didinginkan, lakukan hingga kue dan pisang habis)
14. Place the “bananas” inside the fridge for 3-4 hours before serving it cool.
(Simpan Tokyo Banana didalam lemari pendingin selama 3-4 jam sebelum disajikan dingin-dingin.)
